I went to the Pesto Tower to pick up the double-legalized documents for Mei-Lin’s Italian nationality application (from Taiwan side): birth certificate (in Chinese), police records (multilingual), and household registration transcript (in English). I had to stay one night in hotel in Taipei in order to be able to do everything in time. The next step was supposed to bring these documents back to Switzerland (or Italy) and have them translated to Italian by a sworn translator (possibly together with Japan’s police records, which has not arrived yet), but the Pesto Tower kind of messed up. Despite them having sent me an email with a big warning “THIS OFFICE DOES NOT PROVIDE ITALIAN TRANSLATIONS” apparently that’s not true for all type of document, and they included by default a (rather cheap) service of Italian translation. Well, good for us, one less thing to do. The costs are so updated:
- Mei-Lin’s Police records certificate: 100 NTD
- Mei-Lin’s Birth certificate from HRO: 15 NTD
- Mei-Lin’s Household registration transcript (English): 100 NTD.
- Notary legalization of above documents: 3 x 1200 NTD
- Pesto Tower legalizations (total): 1590 NTD
- Pesto Tower translations (total): 1330 NTD
- Transportation costs: 370 NTD
- One night in hotel: 3380 NTD (cheapest one I found with private bathroom nearby the Pesto Tower)
Total: roughly 292.90 CHF. Plus the previous 393.70 CHF we are now at about 686.60 CHF.
